PFC#7: The little black dress

And yet, it's time for another Petite Fashion Challenge!
The Challenge: "A little black dress (LBD) is essential in every woman's wardrobe. It's always great for back-up if you run out of outfit ideas for a night out. Adding a pop of colour to your LBD will change up its look and make your dress a little less boring.
For this challenge, add a pop of colour (or two) to your little black dress to change up the look. You could add anything from an accessory to a blazer, or even nail polish!"

M by Missoni skirt, H&M shirt, random belt, Burberry shoes, J.Crew necklace, David Yurman bracelet

from day...

Of all things, I do not own a little black dress. Black shirts, pants, shorts and skirts, I have plenty of, but not a dress. So yet, anther challenge where I have to improvise. I guess, I kinda cheated by pairing separates to make my 'dress.' But, that goes to show, a little black skirt is just as versatile, if not more, as a LBD! :)

...to night

M by Missoni skirt, Bebe top, random belt, DIY feather stole/collar, YSL pumps, J.Crew necklace

I didn't exactly read all the "requirements" until after I took the pictures, consequently I didn't know adding colors was a must. Good thing for the pop of pink polish and red lips!

  1. Gasp: THOSE FEATHERS! Love love love! The red lip and the hefty J.Crew necklace add quite a bit of interest to the night look.

The separates turned out great! ;)

  4. Your creativity never fails to amaze me. Love, love, love both looks. I think you've convinced me to not buy any more LBDs. Black separates will do!

  5. I'll admit .... I had NO idea about the color part of this challenge until I saw your post pop up this morning on my Google reader feed and saw your mention about the red lips and pink polish (I love secretly reading scheduled posts that Google "leaks" hehe). Love the feather. Love. So very "Khatu" !

  11. Khatu! I was wondering what you were going to come up with when you tweeted you don't have an LBD :P As usually a FANTASTIC job! I think these outfits need no colour to be special.
